Katy Hanson – Managing Director
Prior to joining Welch & Co in 2008 Katy worked in London & Cardiff before returning to West Wales with her family in 2008, initially being based in South Pembrokeshire.
Katy has a wealth of knowledge in all areas of criminal law and has successfully represen clients charged with offences ranging from multi-handed drug conspiracies, robbery, child neglect, serious assaults and sexual offences as well as summary only offences, for example criminal damage and public order matters. She is an experienced advocate and regularly appears before magistrates courts in Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire.
Police station accredited, Katy is able to deal with all aspects of your case from point of arrest to trial. Katy is a member of the criminal litigation panel and a duty Solicitor both on the Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion schemes.
Katy is the committee member for West Wales for the Criminal Law Solicitors Association (CLSA), the National representative body for Criminal Solicitors.
Katy has experience in all areas of matrimonial and family law. A member of Resolution, Katy is committed to dealing with cases, sympathetically, pragmatically and professionally. In addition Katy has experience in local authority care proceedings and regularly represents parents and grandparents involved in those proceedings.
Katy regularly appears before the family proceedings court and county courts in Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire.

Rachel heads up Welch & Co’s Property Law Team, having extensive experience in both Residential Conveyancing and Commercial Conveyancing.
Rachel graduated from Lancaster University with a degree in Law in 2000 before joining the conveyancing department of Shoosmiths Solicitors in 2001. Rachel qualified as a Licensed Conveyancer in 2010. In 2011 Rachel left her position as a senior conveyancer with Shoosmiths to return to her native West Wales, working initially in private practice then Ceredigion County Council for 5 years, until joining Welch and Co. Solicitors in March 2017.
Rachel is also experienced with Commercial Landlord & Tenant Matters, Agricultural Tenancies, Major Project Work, Compulsory Purchase Orders, and Section 106 & 38 Agreements.
Rachel hails from the Cardigan area and is a fluent Welsh Speaker

Anita qualified as a solicitor in 1994 and specialises in Family Law.
She trained as a solicitor in Cambridgeshire where she continued to work until relocating to Cornwall.
In 2014 she moved to the West Midlands. She was delighted to join Welch & Co in January 2018 when she returned to her native West Wales.
Anita grew up in Lampeter and is a Welsh Speaker.
She has a wealth of experience as a Family Law Solicitor and is committed to providing professional, pragmatic legal advice and assistance to her clients whilst making every effort to be understanding, sensitive and approachable at what can often be a difficult and traumatic experience for clients.
Anita is accredited by the Law Society as a Family Law specialist. The wealth of experience that she has gained over the last 25 years means that she is ideally placed to represent you in all aspects of Family Law

Louise qualified in 1979 and has always specialised in Family Law. As a newly qualified Solicitor in the West Midlands, Louise had a large family case-load, dealing with domestic violence injunction applications on a weekly basis.
Following her move to West Wales in the early 1980s, Louise practised initially in Newcastle Emlyn before setting up Welch & Co in 1985.
Louise has continued to specialise in Family Law throughout her career, dealing with divorce, financial applications, private law children disputes and public law children cases involving Social Services and the Local Authority applying for Care Orders.
Since the introduction of Special Guardianship in 2005, Louise has acted for both grandparents and foster carers in applications for Special Guardianship Orders.
Stephen qualified as a Solicitor in 1979 and has a mixed caseload of criminal law litigation and conveyancing, probate and administration of estates.
Stephen is an experienced and tenacious advocate who is able to provide court representation across the whole range of criminal law. Whilst he enjoys court work and practicing criminal law Stephen finds he can happily combine that work with his practice and expertise in both private and commercial conveyancing, will drafting and the administration of estates.
Lauren joined Welch & Co Solicitors in November 2016. She studied for her Law Degree and Legal Practice Course in Aberystwyth University. Lauren has previously worked in Llandysul dealing mainly with conveyancing and private client matters, and for the past four years has specialised in Employment Law and HR.
Lauren is local to the Cardigan area, and is a fluent Welsh Speaker.

Samantha rejoined Welch & Co as a Paralegal in 2017, before being awarded her training contract in May 2018, working across the Conveyancing and Wills & Probate departments. Sam previously worked with Welch & Co. in 2013 during her Legal Practice Course studies in Swansea University, which she passed with distinction.
Samantha has extensive experience in Property Law, Wills & Probate and Family Law. Samantha was born and raised in North Pembrokeshire and is a fluent welsh speaker.

Christina Jones, Paralegal
Christina joined Welch & Co in 1989 and has worked as secretary/PA to Director Stephen Welch, through to April 2017. Christina has extensive experience in Conveyancing and has assisted all other legal departments during her time at Welch & Co. Now working as a Paralegal within the Conveyancing team, Christina is a native of Llechryd and is happy to conduct business in the Welsh or English language alike.
